Without two very special people we would not be where we are today. Artemis Whippets was founded by Rhonda M. Gold and Michael Small, with the first Artemis litter being registered in 1999.  It is with their blessing we carry on the Artemis Kennel name.

Around 2010, Rhonda asked if I would be interested in co-breeding a litter out of their lovely Violette, CH Tapestry's Spun Silk at Artemis MC, ROM. Two wonderful litters later, by BISS GCH DC Ableaim Patent Pending MC, CGC, TKN, ROMXX, we produced 8 champions, a dual champion, 2 Top 20 contenders, a multi BIS winner, a multi BIF winner and most importantly made a ton of memories and became very close friends.

 

Rhonda was truly one of a kind, touching the lives of everyone she met. I was extremely lucky to be taken under the wing of someone so special. She had a significant impact on my trajectory with this amazing breed and in life as a whole. I will forever cherish our time and travels together...and the memories....so many wonderful memories. In Oct 2021, we (everyone lucky enough to meet her) lost Rhonda after a hard fought battle with ovarian cancer. It is in her honor we carry on the Artemis Kennel name, doing our best to breed to the standard, with a focus on health and temperament. ​
